The Finance and Administration Department provides the central fiscal control and accounting activity of the Village. Staff currently consists of four full-time employee positions. The Finance Director serves as the Chief Fiscal Officer of the Village. The Department manages daily finance and accounting activities including processing accounts payable and cash receipts, purchasing, payroll, debt and grant management, bank relations, and fixed asset control. In addition, the Department prepares monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports to state and federal agencies, including the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report required by Florida Statutes. The Finance and Administration Department is responsible for working with the Village Manager to facilitate the annual budget preparation process and ensuring that the Village meets Florida's TRIM law requirements and assembles the budget for the Village. The process usually begins with a strategic planning process resulting in a prioritized budget.
