FOUNDERS PARK DESIGNATED A MULTIGENERATIONAL PARK
BY THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IN MONROE COUNTY

At the August 9, 2018 Village Council Meeting, Emily Mutschler, Health Educator Consultant with the Florida Department of Health in Monroe County, presented the Village Council with a plaque designating Founders Park as a Multigenerational Park. The Department of Health is working on a project to help parks become “multigenerational”, meaning they serve people of all ages.

Emily describes multigenerational parks as fantastic assets to our communities since they provide an opportunity for everyone to engage and get active in their own local park and said the designation acknowledges the great strides taken to serve the community. Emily thank the Village Council for their endless support of Founders Park and commented that Founders Park is way ahead of the game in the multigenerational park movement.
