CHRIS SANTE APPOINTED TO FILL VACANT COUNCIL SEAT
At its meeting on January 23, 2020, the Village Council appointed Chris Sante to fill Council Seat 2, vacated by Cheryl Meads earlier in the month. Councilman Sante will serve the remainder of the current term, until newly elected Council Members are seated following the November 2020 General Election.
Councilman Sante has ten years of previous service on Islamorada’s Village Council. He was elected to serve as Mayor for four separate one-year terms and was honored with Mayor Emeritus status following his first eight-years of service on the Village Council.
The appointment was followed by the formal swearing in of Councilman Sante by Village Clerk Kelly Toth.
